User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Excellent Cable at a great price
Does what its supposed to do. It displays in 1080p at 120hz. You won’t be disappointed.

1 Stars Poor assembly
I bought these cables for my new HP Computer and Monitor with built in speakers. They looked fine coming out of the box and after hooking them up, I thought I had made a great decision. However, after about three hours into my session, the picture on the monitor started to degrade and within a few seconds the monitor lost connection with the computer. I wasn’t sure wherein lay the problem - computer, monitor or cables, but suspected the cables. Took a while, but discovered the gold connector on one end had come apart. When I removed the connector, the gold shield was left in the computer’s HDMI port and the plastic shield had fallen out. Since I had thrown away the box the cable came in, it appears I am stuck with a piece of junk wire. While I am happy that the problem was neither the computer nor the monitor, I am not too happy with my HDMI cable purchase.

1 Stars False title, There is no such thing as “high speed” HDMI
This false description makes the product appear to do more than any the “average” or cheap HDMI cables - Nonsense!

“HDMI devices are manufactured to adhere to various versions of the specification, in which each version is given a number, such as 1.0, 1.2, or 1.3a. and just released 1.4. Each subsequent version of the specification uses the SAME KIND OF CABLE, but increases the bandwidth and/or capabilities of what can be transmitted over the cable.”

in other words the version dictates the bandwidth. The transmitting unit with the appropriate hardware and firmware dictates the signal/frequency, not the cable.

Any “Type A” HDMI cable will carry a full 1080 hi-def signal with up to 8 channel audio, Any type A HDMI cables by design; Nineteen pins, 13.9 mm × 4.45 mm, can carry up to 340MHZ bandwidth to support all SDTV, EDTV, and HDTV modes with accompanying audio.

Shielding has never been an issue, I have the cheapest cables I can find tangled in a mess of electrical, RF and Coax cables and never have I encountered even a hint of interference.

Durability could be an argument but so far I have not needed to replace any of my 7 cheap HDMI cables.

Style, if you like shiny gold tipped, extra thick cables that have cool words like “MONSTER” or make claims of “EXTREME PERFORMANCE” and you want to show off your cables to impress people, go for it!

5 Stars GREAT QUALITY,SUPERB PICTURE AND SOUND!!!!
…..I purchased 3 of these cables and right from the start I was impressed. The packaging was perfect, small and durable. The quality of these mediabridge cables surpased my expectations, even after reading the positive reviews. It seems (from the nine one star reviews) that some people may have gotten lemons, because the construction and quality of all three that I purchased was amazing, especially for the price. I have plugged them in and removed them multiple times and have not had one single issue. (for example a couple reviewers said the gold connectors came right off, that didnt happen with mine, I even tugged at it, very sturdy.) If you are looking for a high end HDMI ver. 1.3 category 2 cable, without the high end cost, then look no further, this is it! I have both my HD cable box and my samsung bd4600 blu-ray player running too my receiver with these cables,(my receiver is the Denon AVR 990 it has five assignable HDMI ver.1.3 inputs and one out) Then my third cable is running out to my plasma t.v., which is the samsung 63″ PNB590. The reason I threw out the size of my t.v., is just for the fact that I seen one review ( a bad one, 1 star I think) from someone that had a large screen t.v. and claimed that these might not work with a larger t.v. Not the case with mine, My picture and sound is PHENOMINAL, it couldnt be any better!! I am so glad I purchased these, (I got all three for less than 40.00) instead of the high end COST ones that I almost got talked into buying at ABC Warehouse and Best Buy.

5 Stars high quality cable (version 1.3, category 2)
This is a well-constructed HDMI cable, I highly recommend it. Also, not all cables are version 1.3 compliant (category 2, etc.) - if they’re not, they won’t properly transmit a full 1080p signal. This cable is version 1.3 compliant and it’s heavy-duty as well. It’s a good quality cable. If you’re spending $500+ on your tv and $100+ on your blu-ray/upconverting player, what’s another $10? Whatever HDMI cable you buy, make sure it’s version 1.3 and category 2 (I think these always go together), or else you will compromise your system’s video quality.
