User Ratings and Reviews

1 Stars Another PS3 failure.
I too have only used this player for watching Blu-ray movies and after using the unit for a little over a year (just past the warranty) it stopped playing all discs. This will be my last PS3 and I will be skeptical of buying any Sony products from now on.

Sony should definitely do something about this under warranty as it is a high incident problem, but they won’t. If you buy one, you are taking a chance. It is like a ticking timebomb waiting to self destruct.

5 Stars having fun
i bought a sony playstion 3 after two xbox 360’s fail(way to go microsoft), i love this system so much more only time i have trouble with the unit is when i play fallout3 but everyone has trouble with the game even on the pc (especially the xbox)but i do love playing KiLLZone 2 on here. Blu ray movies look awesome on my tv and i would buy a second playstion for my living room once i upgrade the tv 40 or 55 inch hdtv.

1 Stars PS3 - load/Insert Disc issue after only 45 days of use.
Hey all, Since people get really heated about their consoles, be it a xbox360, wii, or what I purchased, a ps3, I want you to know this is coming from someone who is not a major game player. I am just an average guy who wanted a reliable entertainment console for my family and myself. After much deliberation between the PS3 and the Xbox360, I chose the PS3 because it was more of an all around entertainment console and even though it did have not a great library of games, I was fine with that since I am a very casual gamer and reliability mattered more due to the RROD issues that xbox360 users were experiencing. Well, after 45 days, the disc player stopped loading into the PS3 console. I am in the process of sending this into Sony for repair since it’s still under warranty. This is the first time I have ever done this for any electronics. Every electronic product has it’s failure issues. But a product should not have these issues after only 45 days. For this, I am rating this one stars for now. But I will see how Sony handles my claim and honors their warranty and update if needed. In hind site, I see now that all these console are pretty much the same be it a RROD issue or Disc read/load issue. But what matters most is how the company supports and stands behind their products. Microsoft has 3 years of part/labor for their xbox systems and Sony only has 1. Protect yourself and get the xbox360, even if it does break, MS will fix it fast and for free. I know this because all my friends have xbox360. I am the only one who opted for the PS3..:)Serves me right. Also, if you are weighing in that the technology is better for ps3. Think of it this way, what good is the technology if you can’t user it? MS may have created bad systems, but they have created way more efficient ones now with the Jasper chipset and they stand behind all thier old ones, which speaks volumes about the company. Hope that helps. Take care. Ethan.

5 Stars The better console in this moment
The PS3 was my first gaming console and I am so happy with my purchase. I like the graphics and had compared the benefits of this console and the other ones and I think that this is the better gaming console that exists in this moment. The only complaint that I have is the size and weight.

5 Stars This is what you have been waiting for!!!!!
I love it!!!!!! That is all there is to it. The blu ray is great. The games are fun. Its easy to set up. Two usb cables. Free internet. A very great buy. You wont be sorry.
