I was a bit hesitant to buy Sylvania but the price and the reviews swayed me. I am 100% satisified. We have played several Blu-Ray and several that are not. It upscales as good as I’ve seen and the Blu-Ray was striking.
I have it feeding into my sound system optically and the audio is as perfect as these old ears can hear. Price + performance = a great buy.
In a month of usage I have no weaknesses to report.

This player was so easy to set up…….I love it!!! The picture is fabulous and navigation is quite simple.
1 Stars Broke after 5 months
I bought the player in Oct 08, it was slow as heck, picture blinked occasionally on all discs, sometimes froze, then after 5 months it stopped reading discs completely.
Wouldn’t recommend.

My first Blue Ray Player and picked this one because Consumer Reports rated very high and the price was great! Easy to set up with the supplied HDMI cable direct to my Samsung LCD. Video reproduction is exceptional at 1080p. Upconversion of regular DVD’s is very good as well.
I have not had any of the problems so far with picture freezing and have had this unit for over one month. It is rather slow to load BR disks but I understand this is true for all BR players. Would recommend this unit. Now I can’t wait to install my surround sound system!
