Philips has launched the BDP 3000 Blu-ray media player. This new device by Philips shows that its not necessary for great players to cost too high. This player has anything and everything that you would expect and may be even more. The prime features of this player include 1080p 24fps full HD images, upscaling of existing DVDs to near 1080p HD quality, Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound and BD Live (Profile 2.0) support for those web-based extras, along with USB connectivity, DivX compatibility

Harman has released its latest Blu-ray player known as the Lexicon BD-30, where this one is supposed to be able to handle just about anything you throw at it including DVDs by upconverting regular DVDs to 1080p resolution - just don’t expect Blu-ray level quality then. Features include BD-Live support, BonusView, SACD, CD and USB connectivity. In addition, the BD-30 will come with Anchor Bay’s award-winning Video Reference Series technology for the best 1080p picture possible.

This’ll actually be our second Watchmen contest… here goes! This one is easy. The kind folks at M80 want to give away a copy of Watchmen on Blu-ray.
